CNS Webinars on current global health priorities


CNS organizes webinars on current global health priorities on last Tuesday of every month.
These webinars serve an important purpose of:
  • Connecting CNS Correspondents Team and other health, science and development journalists, especially from Asian and African low- and middle-income countries with noted experts
  • Connecting health advocates from low- and middle-income countries with noted experts and facilitating knowledge sharing, online dialogue and information exchange
  • Connecting the dots: Moderating an online open session (including open session) between participants and webinar panel of experts for better understanding of specific health issues as well as how they connect/ link up with other health and development issues
  • Increasing quality coverage of health priorities post-webinar and raising visibility of key issues
Overview: how it functions?

PRE-WEBINAR:
  • Identifying a theme with key partners
  • Confirming key webinar panelists as per the theme
  • Pre-webinar publicity (announcing call to register, share-graphics, suggested posts for social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email listservs, etc)
  • Setting up GoToWebinar for webinar
  • Requesting partners to share the call to register with their media lists
  • Drafting issue-brief (with links to references) to help journalists frame stories and advocates deepen their understanding on specific issues and linkages with other health and development issues
WEBINAR:
  • 60 minutes duration
  • Moderation: These webinars are moderated by South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC)'s senior producer Ashok Ramsarup and CNS Managing Editor Shobha Shukla
  • YouTube streaming: These webinars get streamed on CNS YouTube channel for enhanced visibility
POST-WEBINAR:
  • Post-webinar follow-up: All participants receive webinar recording, issue briefs, other relevant information/ material. 
  • These materials get shared via social media channels as well
  • Supporting journalists as they write stories and tracking coverage
