Professor Prasad completed his medical education from
KGMC in 1970s and received training in pulmonary medicine, fibreoptic
bronchoscopy and lung cancer management from top institutions in Japan and
other parts of the world.
Professor Prasad also hold key positions of various
professional bodies on pulmonary medicine. He is the Vice-President, South Asia
Association of Allergy, Asthma And Clinical Immunology; Vice-President, Indian
Society for Study of Lung Cancer; Chairman, Uttar Pradesh State Task Force of
India's national TB programme (formally called Revised National TB Control
Programme); Chairman, Zonal Task Force (RNTCP) North Zone; International
Governor, American College of Chest Physicians 2003-09; President, Indian Chest
Society 2007-08; President, Indian Association for Bronchology 2007-08; President,
National College of Chest Physicians, India 2006-07; President, Indian College
of Allergy Asthma and Applied Immunology 2005-07; President, Indian Medical
Association, Lucknow Branch 2006-07, among others.
