This Podcast features a special message by Dr Rishi Sethi, Professor, Cardiology Department, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), India and Executive Council member, Cardiological Society of India (CSI) and Member Scientific Committee, Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC). Professor Rishi Sethi shared his insights on how cardiovascular diseases impact people living with HIV, on the last day of 10th IAS Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2019) in Mexico.
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are biggest killers on our planet. People living with HIV are likely to live normal lives with roll-out of antiretroviral therapy (ART) but cannot lower the guard down on CVDs especially heart disease. In terms of policy and programmatic levels, lot more coordination is needed to curb both epidemics as well as increase health security, where "no one is left behind".
Thanks
