193 countries globally have promised to avert untimely deaths due to cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by one-third by 2030. But with less than 132 months left to meet these targets, it is alarming that several cancers are on a rise, not decline, in many parts of the world.
In lead up to World Cancer Day 2020, have a direct interface with noted experts on how can deliver on these goals and targets, which are not only critical to address NCDs but also to speed up progress on other SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

Dedicated to the grit and determination of cancer survivors and in fond remembrance of those who are not amongst us anymore though their legacy continues to light our lives.
"Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints..."
2020 World Cancer Day Webinar celebrates the invaluable footprints of late Dr Veena Sharma, a researcher who worked in India's premier research institute (Central Drug Research Institute - CDRI), and carried out studies on some aspects of chemotherapy and chemoprophylaxis in experimental Leishmaniasis, that resulted in development of new screening technique and several compound were screened for therapeutic activities. She was also a senior noted educationist who served as a distinguished teacher as well as Principal and Vice-Principal of several schools and colleges, and spearheaded campaign against one of the major risk factors for cancers: tobacco. She bravely fought against cancer.
